I have learned that caring includes: eating well, exercising, avoiding hurt to myself with dangerous and bad things, but also taking care of my way of being, my self-esteem and cultivating cuidix values.
Remember that being Cuidix also includes treating others as you would like them to treat you, respecting them, not discriminating, caring for them, especially when they are sick .
Because all of us have been sick or we will be at some point. And when that happens we may feel scared, worried, and especially helpless. In these circumstances we need not only medicines but also the human factor caring about us.
How important is that our doctor explains what happens to us in understandable language, that the nurse smiles on us, that the guard has a word with us as leads to the operating room, even as other people working in the hospital or health show more finesse .
In this world of haste
How often have do we forget to call a sick friend or family member to ask how they are? How often have we forgotten to offer our help to a neighbour who is sick?
All of us, whether we work in healthcare or not, must remember that the smallest gestures of help and support make us true Cuidix. These actions of kindness helps those who are sick around us, sometimes even more than medicine.
The treatment we receive when we are sick is an essential part of our recovery.
But in addition, how we treat others when they are sick, whether family, friends, patients, or strangers, defines us as human beings. It makes us better or worse people and thereby a better or worse society.
If you agree with us, you are definitely Cuidix. If you want those around you to be Cuidix too, we invite you to spread the Cuidix philosophy. Together we can make things better!.
